Parental Leave Book Club & Support Group
Have you had a baby in the last year?
Are you lost in the endless rhythm of nap, change, feed, repeat?
Are you a little bored, a little lonely, a little stir-crazy, and looking for a chance to get out of the nursery to chat with some other grown ups?
For you, I offer the Parental Leave Book Club!
We will be reading (or audiobooking) books about taking care of tiny babies in manageable chunks. We will use our reading as a jumping-off point to discuss new-parent life in all its complexity. Make friends, explore new ideas, commiserate about challenges, and enjoy treats together!
In person at 4147 N. Ravenswood Ave, Ste 302
Tuesdays, 1-2:15 pm
$120 per month (one month = 4 weekly meetings = one book)
Pre-walking babies welcome; private feeding and changing space available in the suite
Dads, non-birthing partners, couples attending together, adoptive parents, and parents who are not on parental leave are welcome (it’s just a catchy title).
Each book club meeting will include a recap of the reading (just in case you don't get through it all), guided but open discussion of our experiences, and a little self-care or treat.
We will launch when we have enough participants available at the same time.
The next book will be Precious Little Sleep by Alexis Dubief; a reading schedule will be sent after registration.
Honor Your Pregnancy: A Writing Group for Loss
In this nurturing group, we will share stories, give and get support, and express ourselves via writing.
In person at 4147 N Ravenswood, Ste 302 or online, depending on participants’ preference
Tuesdays, 7:30-8:45 pm
$150 for six weekly sessions
All levels of writing experience and types of pregnancy loss are welcome.
We will launch when we have enough participants available at the same time.
Each meeting will include a short reading for inspiration, a discussion of one aspect of the pregnancy loss experience, time to write, and an opportunity to share.
